Shooting Sisters Skills Checkoff Program
Our Skills Checkoff Program is a fun, structured way for Shooting Sisters to build confidence on the range. Work through Levels 1–8 at your own pace with support from our instructors and community.
• Maintain muzzle awareness at all times
• Keep finger off trigger until ready to shoot
• Properly load and unload firearm
• Lock slide open and confirm firearm is clear
• Follow all range commands
Level 1
Safety & Basic Firearm Handling
Basic Accuracy
Level 2
- Demonstrate proper stance and grip
- Use correct sight alignment and sight picture
- Maintain trigger control
- Fire 10 rounds at 5 yards
- Achieve hits inside an 8-inch circle
Level 3
Controlled Shooter
- Drill Instructions
- Start from low ready
- Fire 2 shots (controlled pair)
- Allow the firearm to settle between shots
- Maintain proper grip and stance
- Repeat 5 times
- At 5-7 yards for small guns or 10 yards for larger guns w/wo Optics.
- Fire 5 shots within 12 seconds.
- Hitting 4 out of 5 shots in an 8-inch circle.

Timed Shooting
Level - 5
3-Target Transition Drill
- Distance: 7 yards
- Setup: 3 targets side-by-side, about 1 yard apart
- String of Fire: From low ready, fire 2 shots on each target (T1–T2–T3)
- Round Count: 6 rounds per run
- Par Time Goal:
- Beginner pass – 5.0 seconds or less
- Advanced pass – 3.5 seconds or less
- Hit Standard: All hits must be inside the A-zone / center scoring area
Level 6— Movement
- Move safely between shooting positions
- Maintain muzzle discipline while moving
- Stop and engage targets safely
- Fire 2 rounds after movement
- Maintain safe body and firearm control
- Demonstrate side to side, forward, and backward movement
Level 7
Drawing From Holster
- Use safe holster placement
- Draw firearm safely
- Maintain finger discipline during draw
- Reholster safely
- Fire 1 controlled shot after draw
